| Sealy, Texas was the home of Daniel Haynes,
a cotton gin builder, who began making cotton-filled mattresses for
his friends and neighbors in 1881. Today, Sealy Corporation is the
largest bedding manufacturer in the world. For more than 125 years,
Sealy has been synonymous with sleep—the kind of deep, energizing
sleep that you wake from refreshed and ready for the day. |
| |
Sealy introduced its first Sealy Posturepedic brand mattress
in 1950, the only mattress at that time that focused on the
importance of correct back support. The 1970s brought major
product developments and refinements. Sealy Posturepedic bedding
became high-tech with programmed coils for increased support.
At the same time, Sealy boxsprings became known as foundations,
due to the development of the torsion bar module. |

1. The patented Posturepedic Innerspring senses weight
and motion and responds with increasing support where
your body needs it.
2. The UniCased Edge locks into the innerspring for
consistent, uniform comfort.
3. The Shock Abzzorber Plus® Box Spring features
steel modules and a solid steel spine for optimal support
and durability.

| Sealy's PostureTech Coil, the industry's
newest innerspring innovation, was introduced at end of the 1980s,
and is now used in all Sealy Posturepedic mattresses. It is highlighted
by a patented Sensory ArmT feature that senses and cushions movement,
then responds with increasing support ... correct support. |
