A mattress warranty is designed to protect the consumer
from purchasing a defective product. Warranties cover any structural
or manufactured defects. Most bedding manufactures provide some type
of warranty. These warranties fall in two categories Pro-Rated and
Non-Pro Rated.
Some Vendor Warranties and Overviews are below:
|
| |
|
A Non-Prorated warranty will cover full replacement
value of your mattress or box spring if it is found to be defective.
Non-Prorated warranties will normally extend for a full ten years;
others will extend further.
Pro-rated warranty will normally decrease the replacement value every
year that the product has been used until reaching the maximum life
of the warranty and exhausting and replacement value. For example,
if you have a 5 yr Pro-rated warranty and your set original purchase
price was $199.00 and you are approved for a set replacement in year
3 of the product’s use, you would receive an in-store credit
for $79.60 ($199.00/5years life span=$39.80 depreciated value annually.
$39.80 x 3 years already used equals $119.40 depleted value. $199.00
minus $119.40 equals $79.60 remain replacement value.) |

Warranties vary in the number of years in which they
cover a product. Normally every new mattress will have a manufacture’s
warranty card attached to it upon delivery. This card will outline
all of the items covered by the manufacture. Some warranties are 20yrs,
10yrs, 5yrs and 1 year. Again each manufacture and product differs,
so please check with a knowledgeable sales associate for details.
Every piece of bedding will have a Law Tag sewn into the product.
Normally the Law Tag is a 3 inch by 5 inch tag that is sewn into the
side of the product. It will state “Under Penalty of Law this
tag not to be removed except by consumer doing so will alter your
warranty rights”. These tags contain valuable warranty information
and should remain attached to the product. It states when and where
it was manufactured and the type of warranty a individual product
carries. Typically a code letter or number will be written on this
tag. By referring to the original warranty card, it will identify
the number of years and whether it is Pro-rated or Non-prorated. Or,
simply contact Customer Service for assistance.

| Bedding warranties are basically all similar. The each
cover crucial concerns like, coils or wires protruding from the mattress
or box spring. Excessively lumpy fabric or shifting pillow tops will
be covered. Body Impressions or sagging over one and a half inch.
If your product sags or the box spring bows, cracks, sags or breaks.

Comfort preferences. The warranty
does not allow a replacement if you are uncomfortable in the sleep
set. We go to great lengths to offer comfort testing, showroom trials
and allowing a 90 Night in home comfort test, providing the product
remains in the manufactures sealed plastic. Both
Pieces. Typically mattresses and box springs/foundations
are sold in matching sets. Should you have a warranty concern, a service
call might reveal only one piece to be defective. A manufacturer’s
warranty will only replace those items that are found to be structurally
improper and uncomfortable. Only defective merchandise will be replaced.
One defective piece will not warrant the set being replaced as that
it will match.
Transportation or delivery fees. Should any piece of your
sleep set be deemed defective, we will be happy to replace it with
an in store credit. This will allow you to reselect or replace the
defective item. If you would like to utilize our delivery service
to deliver your new item and collect the defective item, a delivery
fee will apply. If you are able to exchange the defective item at
one of our four warehouses (not the local store) no fee will apply.
However, please be advised the defective item must remain in near
new condition. It cannot be soiled, wet or stained in any fashion.
Defective merchandise that arrives damaged or soiled will be refused
and become non-returnable, thereby voiding your warranty.
Mattress fabric. Manufacture’s attempt to produce products
with durable fabrics. Consumers are urged to protect these fabrics
with a mattress pad cover. A quality mattress pad cover will not only
increase the lifespan of the mattress fabric by reducing friction
and wear, but it will also protect the fabric from stains and promote
a cleaner sleeping surface for you. |

| Please contact the Customer Service Department to refer
the claim process. Basically, once a warranty claim form has been
completed, a service inspector will come to review the bedding and
assess the product for structural or manufactured defects. This report
will be reviewed. Once a determination is made if the concerns are
due to a warranty defect, a letter of notice will be processed. Letters
will be mailed advising of approved or denied claim status. Once approved,
the consumer may contact the sales associate to review reselection
options. |
